I am Mariangela Mussatti MUSA, existential/multidisciplinary artist.
Existential refers to building my work from the realization that I am alive, making myself present. Feeling alive is when I realize my power to choose, my freedom and the responsibilities that entails – its anguish. My work is living itself and I consider that we are our greatest creation.
As a multidisciplinary visual artist, I materialize work with the tools of charcoal, dry and oil pastels, oil paint, pencil, textile techniques, performance, photography and video art. The corporality of the works interests me for the artistic process itself, but not as an objective; its constant transformation or disappearance is frequent. I respect physical materiality just as I value bodies, as mortal temporal-spatial points. I make works in the format of paintings, photos, videos, garden designs and others, considering them a strategy to connect.
My art is spiritual, considering it god as the conjunction of everything; It is a lowercase god devoid of ego. When I see it, I see myself. I make myself with the others, in the similarity and in the difference.
Although I consider life and art to be the same thing, I use the signifier ART when I emphasize the act of seeing. I make art to see, making appear what exists but has no place – I appear to disappear, I live when I die.

Existencial refiere a construir mí obra desde el darme cuenta que estoy viva, haciéndome presente. Sentirme viva es cuando tomo noción de mi poder de elección, de mí libertad y de las responsabilidades que conlleva – su angustia-. Mi obra es el vivir mismo y considero que somos nuestra máxima creación.
Como artista visual multidisciplinar, materializo obra con las herramientas de la carbonilla, pasteles secos y al óleo, pintura al óleo, lápiz, técnicas textiles, la performance, fotografía y videoarte. La corporalidad de las obras me interesa para el proceso artístico en sí, pero no como objetivo; siendo frecuente su constante transformación o desaparición. Respeto la materialidad física así como valoro a los cuerpos, cómo puntos temporo-espaciales mortales. Hago obras en formato de cuadros, fotos, videos, diseños de jardines y otros, considerándolos una estrategia para vincularme.
Mí arte es espiritual, considerando a lo dios como la conjunción de todo; es un dios en minúscula carente de ego. Cuando lo veo, me veo. Me hago con los otres, en la similitud y en la diferencia.
Si bien considero que vida y arte son una misma cosa, uso el significante ARTE cuando enfatizo el acto de ver. Hago arte para ver, haciendo aparecer aquello que existe pero que no tiene lugar -aparezco para desaparecer, vivo al morir-.
